Job Description:
- 1) Operates machine to scrape and smooth outer surface of barrel by holding handtools against barrel: Removes temporary hoops from barrel and places barrel horizontally on barrel rest.
- 2) Starts machine.
- 3) Clamps barrel between chucks of lathe.
- 4) Holds barrel plane against surface of revolving barrel and guides tool along length of barrel to scrape and smooth barrel.
- 5) Lifts tool from surface of barrel, releases pressure of tail chuck on barrel, and lifts barrel from machine.
